Dredging and shore protection
Dredging, reclamation and shoreline protection, from survey to handover
We keep channels open, reclaim land, and protect shorelines and riverbanks for operators, contractors and government agencies across [Nigeria's coastal and inland waters].
One team from survey to handover
Epenal Group plans and delivers dredging and shore protection projects from start to finish. We survey the site, design the works, mobilise our own crews and equipment, and check the result.
Clients use us to deepen access channels to their facilities, create land for new sites, and protect communities, roads and pipelines from erosion.
Capabilities
The work we take on, on its own or as part of a larger marine project.
Capital and maintenance dredging
New channels, berths and basins, and regular maintenance dredging to keep existing waterways at their design depth.
Land reclamation and sand filling
Sand winning, pumping and placement to create or raise land for facilities, roads and estates.
Shoreline and riverbank protection
Revetments, rock armour, gabions and sheet piling that protect coastlines and riverbanks from waves and currents.
Erosion control and slope stabilisation
Geotextiles, sandbag and gabion structures, and drainage works that stabilise slopes and stop erosion threatening assets and communities.
How we work
Every project follows the same five steps, with HSE checks at each one.
Survey
Bathymetric and topographic surveys and soil sampling establish the conditions on site.
Design and planning
We design the works, choose the dredging or placement method, and prepare the environmental and permit documents the job needs.
Mobilisation
Equipment, crews and materials move to site, and everyone involved completes a safety induction.
Execution
The works proceed to the agreed design, with daily progress and HSE reports.
Monitoring and handover
Post-works surveys confirm depths, levels and profiles before we hand over the site with as-built records.
Equipment we deploy
Matched to each job's water depth, site access and volume.
- Cutter suction dredgers
- Amphibious excavators (swamp buggies)
- Sand and hopper barges
- Tugs and workboats
- Crane barges for rock and pile placement
- Survey boats with echo sounders
